Check which documents you need to prove your identity, address, and bank account before starting a Motion Rental scooter rental.

To start your scooter subscription, you must provide documents that confirm your identity, your residential address, and your bank account ownership. In many cases, one or two documents are enough when chosen correctly.

Overview

All customers must submit valid proof of identity before starting a scooter subscription.

We use these documents to:

  • Confirm who you are

  • Verify your residential address

  • Confirm the bank account belongs to you

This protects you, ensures accurate records, and keeps our verification process compliant.

Accepted documents

Medicare card or international passport

Government-issued ID allows us to verify your legal identity.

You can provide either:

  • A valid Australian Medicare card

  • A valid international passport with matching personal details

These documents confirm your name and identity.

Australian or overseas rider’s license

Your rider’s license shows that you are legally allowed to ride the scooter you subscribe to.

Your license must be valid for the scooter you are subscribing to. Check the scooter’s engine size before choosing your vehicle and uploading your license.

We accept:

  • Valid Australian rider’s license

  • Valid overseas rider’s license

Important for French license holders

Check your French license category carefully:

  • AM category — suitable for scooters up to 50cc

  • A1 or A2 category — suitable for scooters above 50cc (including our scooters which are

  • 125cc)

Make sure your license category matches the scooter type you select. If you are unsure, review the scooter specifications or the vehicle comparison guide before proceeding.

Proof of address

We must confirm your residential address matches the details you provide during sign-up.

Accepted documents:

  • Utility bill (electricity, gas, internet)

  • Lease or rental agreement

  • Australian rider’s license showing your current address

  • Bank statement

  • Proof of balance document

Proof of bank account

We verify bank account ownership before setting up direct debit payments.

Provide one of the following:

  • Proof of balance document (recommended, as it can also confirm your address)

  • Recent bank statement showing:

    • Your full name

    • Account number

    • Recent transactions

Simplifying your submission

If you use an overseas rider’s license, you can often reduce the number of documents required.

A Proof of balance document may already include:

  • Your residential address

  • Confirmation of bank account ownership

When a single document covers multiple checks, you may not need to upload separate documents for address and bank account.

How to submit your documents

Submit in person at our workshop

Bring your physical documents or clear printouts to our workshop so our team can check and copy them on the spot.

Complete the signup form (recommended)

After you complete the Book now form, we send you a WhatsApp message with a private link to the Signup form. Use that WhatsApp link to open the Signup form and upload photos or PDFs of your documents; you cannot access this form in any other way.

Send via WhatsApp (least recommended)

As a last resort, you can reply to our WhatsApp conversation with clear photos of your documents so our team can review them.

Final notes

Submitting the correct documents from the start speeds up your subscription and reduces back-and-forth.
